Day 3 - Osaka

My Osaka trip is totally a disaster. It is really a waste of time, and I quite regret that I wasted a day there, should go to Kyoto instead. :D

However, I believe with bad times, only then we could appreciate the good times coming, no? Anyway, Osaka also left me with a memory, albeit not a very good one.

Of course, we woke up early again to catch our Shinkansen which was scheduled at 8.30am to Osaka. It took around 3 hours by Shinkansen, so you can imagine how fast it is. Usually taking a bus from Tokyo - Osaka will take you roughly 10 hours.

We left our baggage at our hotel, Andon, which provides storage for our big luggages for free, since we will be back to Andon once we return back to Tokyo. Instead, we brought only our backpack with enough clothing for 3 days. So easier to move around. :D

We were supposed to board the train in Tokyo main station, and, no worry about getting hungry in Japan, they sell lots and lots of bento, with many types and prices that you can afford. I was having quite a hard time choosing my food. And I grabbed this at last.

And CK saw there is a small ramen shop in the station, so he went there to have a nice hot ramen. Luckily he is a fast eater, since not 5 minutes he stepped in the shop, the shinkansen arrived. :) Hehhehe.., imagine how he gulped down his hot food.

By the way, the glutton CK also bought this bento for his tummy during the Shinkansen trip.

We arrived gloomy Osaka which was raining for the whole day. Sigh~ This is when our ordeal begin.

First of all, our plan was to find a locker, put in our backpack, then ciao go exploring Osaka, and night time look for a love hotel for the night.

The things that happened instead, we arrived Osaka at around 11.30, and we spent 2 hours looking for locker. Yes, there are hundreds of lockers, but all occupied. We were quite panic, and I was getting tired due to my condition.

The Osaka station is very huge, since it is connected to several department store there, until at one point, CK found 1 small locker that could hardly fit in our 2 backpacks. And luckily, there is a Jap uncle who saw us and showed us to another direction which has lots of available lockers. My~~~~~

And the time already showing as 2.30pm, so we erased Umeda Sky Building and Osaka Castle from our list, and directly head to Osaka Kaiyukan.

We bought the 1 day pass which cost 2200 yen per person. This pass is inclusive on the Kaiyukan ticket (which usually cost 2000yen/pax), so this is actually a good deal, since our ride using their public transport.

We arrived at the Kaiyukan and this is the queue. :S *Pengsan* But we have no other choice, so we queued for 1 hour just to get in to see some blahdy fishes. Sigh~

Crazy queue and gloomy day.

Notice how far we were from the entrance?

And all of this hassle only to watch the superstar below.

And we went to the Kaiyukan only to see human mountain human sea 人山人海, not the fishes. :(

And due to the lighting together with the thickness of the aquarium glass (which was purported to be 30 cm thick), our pictures quality is not good at all.

However, please do enjoy what we have here. :) *Note: next time, dun even think of visiting aquarium, it's just not worth it*

And here is our superstar.

">

Hmm..., 2000yen just to watch that big fish swim over for less than 1 min. :|

The rest are quite what you can find in aquarium normally, more fishes, octopus, jellyfish, as well as some nemo and turtle.

After escaping the aquarium of people, we went to the Tempozan Marketplace which was located opposite of the Kaiyukan, and had some takoyaki.

Urgh.., I still prefer Malaysian version with lots of mayonaisse.

And we are back to Osaka Station afterward, trying to hunt for love hotel with no success. At last CK suggested we just find any hotel, since we both were too tired and cold, and luckily we stumbled upon this travel agency within the Osaka station itself.

They recommended us with a hotel called Yaiyokaikan, or something to that effect, which costs >9000yen, and they charge us with 500yen service charge. So all in all still less than 10,000yen, and still within our budget.

Before departing to our hotel, since in the Osaka station is interlink with Daimaru, we went to hunt for our food there.

We were spoilt for choice, and believe me, their Daimaru there sounds like wet market, with most of the vendors shouting their lung out introducing their products and I do not even understand a word of it..., hehehhe~

Since I was not feeling well, I had salad only that night and CK had spaghetti, which was delicious, but forgot to snap the pics.

And the cakes, oh My GOD, the cakes are just so tempting, that I couldn't resist and bug CK all the way until he relented and bought me a piece of strawberry cake which costed 550yen. Expensive but satisfying!

We ended the night searching for our hotel for another half hour (sigh!) before settling down.

This time, for almost the same amount of money, we had a nice business hotel room! Blahdy.., how come Tokyo room so small? At least in Osaka, we had 2 beds, with attached bathroom (most importantly, with the warm toilet seat) and yukata set.

Hmmmm..., I had a very sound sleep that night!
