My Birthday

Again.., a belated post. This time it's my birthday.

My birthday fell on Friday, was so tempted to just take leave, however, I am saving my leaves for better use. :D Somemore, my parents won't wish me wasting away my day especially on my birthday.

So I still went to work instead of lazing around. Well.., there was no big celebration, only a dinner treat from my beloved husband.

He let me take a pick on which restaurant I wanted to go, and since I was having a piggy attack, I was looking around for some good western food that serves non-halal food.

Was introduced to Wendy's Bistro. Was soooo excited about it!

The ambience is quite comfortable, with dimmed lighting, therefore, the yellowish pictures. :D

It has open kitchen concept where you can view how the food was prepared.

For starter, we ordered Soup of The Day that happened to be mushroom soup. Hey..., I like the soup a lot, it's definitely not some Campbell's soup but home cooked style with real mushrooms! Love it.

Next is Melted Cheese and Tomato Bruchetta. This one not bad, especially if dipped in mushroom soup.

For main, I ordered Grilled Spare Ribs for sure..., was in porky attack, remember? :) However, I am quite disappointed with this. I was expecting something like a rack of tender, succulent pork ribs that I have had before in Sydney. But..., I supposed the standard is too high?

The pork ribs was too well done and quite rubbery to bite. *Sad*

CK ordered Grilled Mixed Platter, which was basically grilled pork rib plus grilled pork belly. Should have ordered the pork sausage instead, since the content is almost the same with mine. *Double sad*

And due to my condition, I could not have wine. *Triple sad*

But one thing to cheer me up though was the dessert, Homemade Brownies with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Hot brownies eaten with cold vanilla ice cream, what a lovely combination, it simply cheer up my day again and chase away the sorrow. LOL.

All in all, the dinner is quite satisfying, especially whenever there is any porky attack.

We went home and celebrate furthermore with my in-laws. All of them, esp CK's nephews and nieces were already waiting eagerly for the cake that CK bought from Secret Recipe. Guess, the cake is more important than my birthday, LOL....

The outlook of the cake is not pretty at all, but the cake is delicious!

Hmm.., what is the most important essence of a birthday? Is it present? Is it the dinner? Or else?

For me, the most important is I can be with my loved ones who can celebrate together with me. That's more than enough. :D
