Resto Surabaya

I kind of forgot how I got to know about this eatery, however, I can still remember their website, here.

After weeks of staring at the menu, it makes me homesick with hometown food. So after a little bit of coaxing, CK brought me to try out yesterday afternoon.

Such a disappointment! I ordered their Ayam Bakar Surabaya, Kangkung Belacan, and Sayur Asem. All failed to meet my expectation. My drink Avocado Juice tasted bitter.

Ayam Bakar Surabaya, nothing to shout about, I can find better in Indonesia. Kangkung Belacan is crispy, the way I like it, but again, not spicy with not enough belacan and tomato. The Sayur Asem, supposingly to be sour, turned out to be sweet.

Even the simple Sambal Belacan (Belacan Chili Paste) also tasteless and not enough "OooMpphh". For this one, I would recommend Ayam Penyet Ria, the Sambal can make you jump with the spiciness.

CK's Nasi Goreng Surabaya (Surabaya Fried Rice) is too sweet for his taste, and his Es Melon Selasih is just a normal coloured syrup.

The damage it costed was around RM33++ for 2 pax. Overall, I will never go back again to this eatery. Better stick back to Ayam Penyet Ria OR go Indonesia for it.

PS: Worse thing is, after the lunch, I gotta visit the loo several times until 2am, and continuing the next day. :S

So, recommended only if you want to clear off your digestion system.
